Spring Valley HS NJROTC

The NJROTC program is about learning Leadership, Organization, Discipline, Confidence, Communication, and many more vital life skills that are used on a daily basis. Cadets learn these life skills, by teaching, interacting, and learning with their peers.  

Community service is a crucial and helpful part of any community. Cadets of NJROTC do a lot for this 60% low income community, and we hope it will return the favor by helping us fund our program. Every month, since March of 2021, the cadets of Spring Valley Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps program have run food drives. Each of these food drives last about 4 to 5 hours at least, and is fully run by high school JROTC students, ranging from ages 13 to 18. Last month in October 2021, we were able to aid 1188 individuals, 256 families. Also in October of 2021, cadets from NJROTC volunteered at Decker Elementary School to help with the fall festival. From the November 20th food drive, NJROTC has helped 1,025 individuals, 235 families. The program has 2 more community service events coming up in December, 2021, and more to follow in 2022. The cadets take a lot of pride in serving the community, as they have impacted over thousands of lives, many times. 

Thus, the purpose of this fundraiser is to continue to give back to and support the community, while also taking care of our own cadets. We strongly want to break the low income caricature of kids from low income families, remaining as low income. Our goals with giving cadets a chance to inquire about their future as well as college with educational field trips, and simply getting them materials they need to be successful is our main priority. We hope not only the Clark County Community, but other communities all over support our cause as well.
